Thais Losso was born in 1974 in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. Soon after she received her B.A. in Fashion Design from the Faculdade Santa Marcelina she was pointed out by one of the city’s major periodicals as a promise in the fashion design business.

2000 > Thais designed all the costumes for the opera “THE MAGICAL FLUTE“, of W.A. Mozart, in the AMAZONAS OPERA FESTIVAL, in Manaus. In the same year CAVALERA, under her command, participated in the “MIAMI FASHION WEEK”

2001 > CAVALERA joins the SÃO PAULO FASHION WEEK (SPFW), the biggest fashion event in Latin America. The brand’s first fashion show, in july, is called “THE MARRIAGE OF MONGA AND KING KONG”. In this year Thais also receives the prize of “THE BEST NEW FASHION DESIGNER“, awarded by one of Brazil’s major media groups.

2002 > January – Fashion Show ”NOVELAS“ (SOAP OPERAS). July – Fashion Show “BLACK”, both of them in the São Paulo Fashion Week as head designer for CAVALERA.

Still in 2002, Thais was one of the five nominees to the prize of “BEST FASHION DESIGNER OF 2001” awarded by the “BRAZILIAN ASSOCIATION OF TEXTILE INDUSTRY (ABIT)”

2003 > January – ”BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S“ Fashion Show. July – “INDIA” Fashion Show, both of them in the São Paulo Fashion Week as head designer for CAVALERA.

After six years working as head designer for CAVALERA, where she was considered to be one of the major forces behind the incredible growth of the brand, Thais decided it was time to change and accepted the invitation made by ZAPPING to be their head designer.

2004 > January – Her first Fashion Show for ZAPPING in the SÃO PAULO FASHION WEEK, baptized as ”NONSENSE”, was effusively acclaimed by the media and made the brand receive a true adrenalin injection. The second one, in July, was called “CHINA”.

In 2004 Thais was invited to be the guest editor of a special fashion edition of “SIMPLES!” magazine and the collaboration came out as one of the most well received edition by its readers. In this year she also started to contribute with the didactic material from SENAC FASHION AND INFORMATION (a National Service of Commercial Apprenticeship) with drawings and trendsetting research.

2005 > January – “ZAPPING ON ICE” Fashion Show. July – “ITALY” Fashion Show, both of them in the São Paulo Fashion Week as head designer for ZAPPING.

Out of ZAPPING, Thais was called to coordinate the commercial collection of the brand SOMMER, recently aquired by A.M.C. TEXTILE, from Santa Catarina.

2006 > Thais is invited to become SOMMER’S head designer, and the brand migrates from the SÃO PAULO FASHION WEEK to FASHION RIO. Her first Fashion Show for the brand is called “SAFARI IN SOMMERLAND”.

In 2006 Thais started to write a column for CAPRICHO MAGAZINE, one of the best know teen mags in the country. She was also invited to design a shoe with her own brand for MELISSA, one of Brazil’s largest plastic shoes industry, who also exports worlwide.

The result was “MELISSA SEVERINE“, one of the big hits from Grendene in all its co-branding business with fashion designers.

2007 > January – In Rio’s Planetary, SOMMER presents a Fashion Show called “SOMMERLAND IN SPACE”. Then, in July, in an old movie theatre called Cine Odeon, SOMMER presents an unforgettable fashion show called “SOMMERLAND IN SHANGRI-LÁ”.

In October of 2007, after two years living in the south of Brazil, Thais asked her boss to leave Santa Catarina and go back to São Paulo where her family lives. In her new professional phase she decided to start a creative and fashion consulting office and she is working nowadays with big brazilian and multi-nacional companies.

In may of 2008 Thais was invited to take part in FASHION RIO again, but now with her own brand. Her presentation was part of an artistic installation called Fashion Container and was acclaimed by the media and the public as a huge success.

Now…. what will it be her next step? No one knows yet.
